The Resurrection:The Much more of God
He is not here: for He is risen, as He said. Come, see the place where the Lord lay. (Matt. 28:6)
It was a pathetic little band of wishers that gathered around the tomb of Jesus that Friday evening. Surely they must have reflected on their own private “what if’s” or “ why didn’t he’s”. But the death of Jesus was indelibly real.
And then came Sunday Morning: And the pathetic little band of wishers went out to anoint and mourn over their dead friend and his ideals….and discovered instead, the living God! Two great things which had been destroyed in his death were their ideas and the power of sin to rob them of God’s wonderful idea.
The resurrection is God’s idea! For us it comes unexpected, radical, awesome, opening our eyes to the much more of God. It is not available for those who play at religion and hold tightly to their ideas of life, self and God. Resurrection comes only to those who have been to the tomb where “wishers” die so that they can discover the limitless potential of the much more of God!
Do not waste your time wishing today, you have been personally invited to the much more of the resurrection of Christ in you.
