In order to GROW you must seek to KNOW
Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold all things are become new.
(2 Cor. 5:17)
Spiritual growth is a combination of inspiration, knowledge, inner reflection, and outward action. Prayer and worship are integral to spiritual growth because it is the medium that God uses to send special messages; if we would pause to listen. Christ gives us a new beginning; a fresh start, forgiveness from the past; wisdom for handling the future; and the power to do what’s right. There are three basic steps for improving spiritual growth:
Faith - (Faith comes by hearing the Word of God) Faith is the first step to growing spiritually. Our acceptance to God and salvation comes through faith in Jesus Christ.
Virtue - (Must conscientiously live a holy and virtuous life) Now that we have been made “new creatures” we must live a wholesome life. This is the first place most of us as Christians experience difficulty in our walk with Christ.
Knowledge - (Study God’s Word on a regular and consistent basis) In all our getting we need to get understanding so that we can know how to love, obey, and follow Him.
