The scholarship ministry coordinates a scholarship banquet in honor of all GMBC high school graduating seniors regardless of their future endeavors. The 2010 graduating class banquet will be held on Saturday June 5, 2010.
The criteria for the GMBC scholarships are as follows:
1. Must be a member of Greater Missionary Baptist Church.
2. Must be a High School Graduating Senior in the awarding scholarship year.
3. Must be involved in either Bible Study or Sunday School and one other ministry i.e. (impact, usher, choir, etc.)
4. Must submit the application by the deadline date (1st sunday in April each year).
a. Must submit an acceptance letter from the college/university/trade school you are going to attend.
b. Must submit two completed Scholarship Applicant profile recommendation forms. (one must be completed by the ministry leader and one must be completed by a teacher or school adminstrator)
c. Must provide a copy of your school transcript.
d. Must have current GPA of 3.2 to be considered for the Deacon Leonard R. Stephens Academic Scholarship.
e. Before you are considered for a scholarship, ALL INFORMATION MUST BE SUBMITTED ON TIME BY THE DEADLINE DATE.
f. A scholarship interview will be held the last week in April. (announcement will be made with specific dates)
